... is said to be "a quaint little drinking town with a fishing problem." Thanks to my new and dear friend K and her gaggle of gals I had the opportunity to enjoy this sliver of Texas coast. We stayed on K's family compound on the Lamar Peninsula just around the bend from Rockport. The locals, affectionately know as Lamartians, generously shared their daily catch. The wild flowers, ancient windswept live oaks and blue herons were abundant, as were the games of pool, cold beer and bloody marys. I even saw an alligator swimming near the dock. The best part, as always, was the conversation and companionship.
