Meet Oji and Kimchi. Oji is the black one with the pink tongue. He uses that tongue to wake up anyone sleeping when he is awake. That is why he is visiting his Auntie for the weekend. And then we have Kimchi. He lives in Korea with Ella and Cy's former nanny. He is a replacement for Cyrus. Seriously. As further proof of Cy's puppy-like qualities -- Ella explained to her class this morning that Cyrus is "really friendly and he doesn't bite."

I think Ella has some very astute observations of the developing, hopefully, soon to be, more human-like qualities, of the very young. Sometimes she reminds me of a pensive, slightly, toothless, schoolmarm from the fifties. She is very mysterious and prim, and you can really hear those gears grinding away.... Paula
